    ANNUAL EVENTS

St. David's Day:

A March 1st, St. David's Day celebration is held annually. During the morning of March 1st, the Welsh flag is raised at the Provincial Legislature as well as at Fredericton City Hall.  Interested citizens are welcome to come to the flag raisings.  A St. David’s Day event is held in Fredericton. Details about the event are available on the Central New Brunswick Welsh Society Facebook page or by contacting the Society.

 

Founders Day Service

A Founders’ Day ecumenical church service is held annually on the Sunday nearest to June 11th, the day that the Cardigan settlers arrived in New Brunswick in 1819. The service is held at the Welsh Chapel, located in Cardigan, New Brunswick – 2900 Cardigan Road, Route 620.  Details about this event are available on the Central New Brunswick Welsh Society Facebook page or by contacting the Society.  Donations to the Welsh Heritage Trust are collected at the service.  These funds are dedicated to the maintenance of the Welsh Chapel and graveyard.

The Founders Day Service will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, June 9th, 2024 at the Welsh Chapel.  All are welcome.

 

Thanksgiving Service

A Thanksgiving ecumenical church service is held annually on the Sunday before Thanksgiving at the Welsh Chapel, located in Cardigan, New Brunswick – 2900 Cardigan Road, Route 620. Details about this event are available on the Central New Brunswick Welsh Society  Facebook page or by contacting the Society.  Donations to the Welsh Heritage Trust are collected at the service.  These funds are dedicated to the maintenance of the Welsh Chapel and graveyard.

A service of Thanksgiving will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, September 29th, 2024 at the Welsh Chapel.  All are welcome.

 

Christmas Celebration:

A Christmas celebration is held annually in Fredericton in late November or early December, with all those interested in Welsh heritage and culture welcome. Details about the celebration are available on the Central New Brunswick Welsh Society Facebook page or by contacting the Society.

A Christmas dinner will be held in 2024, details to come..
